The symptoms of COVID-19 are:
- a cough
- sore throat
- a fever
- shortness of breath.
These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have COVID-19. The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu. Shortness of breath is a sign of possible pneumonia and requires immediate medical attention.
Please feel free to wait in your car. A staff member will let you know when it is your turn.
The staff we have moving around to support people while they wait are not with anyone person long enough to be at risk of catching COVID-19.
Our staff members who are taking the swabs for testing are wearing full PPE – a mask, gloves, gowns, and eye protection which is the same protection we advise in primary care.
Patients are given written advice about when to expect their results and what to do next. Most results will be sent out via text message, with other options available to people who don’t have a mobile phone. We expect the test results to take 5 days to be available.
